VPN for gaming with Vietnam and US IPs

A dedicated Vietnam or US IP for your computer: reach games and servers in Vietnam while you are abroad, or US servers from Vietnam. The ONIE VPN app is a free download; its Full device mode sends the TCP and UDP traffic of your games through the IP you pick.

Full device: Linux; Windows (beta, 1.0.3); macOS Apple silicon (beta).

  • Dedicated IP: used by you alone, never shared
  • Full device (Linux; Windows and macOS in beta) sends your games’ TCP and UDP through the chosen IP
  • Rent by the day, week, month or year

When you need a Vietnam or US IP for gaming

Abroad and want Vietnamese games

Some games published in Vietnam only open sign-in or server selection to players with a Vietnamese IP. With a dedicated Vietnam IP, your connection reaches the internet from Vietnam.

In Vietnam and want games abroad (US servers)

Some games, test builds and events are open only to the US region. With a dedicated US IP, your connection reaches the internet from the US.

Your own IP, not a shared one

Free VPNs often put a great many users on one IP. A dedicated IP is assigned to you alone, from IP ranges we manage ourselves; a blacklisted IP can be reported and, after review, replaced free of charge.

TCP and UDP

Many online games send match data over UDP. Every IP has SOCKS5, HTTP and UDP ports, and Full device mode in the app sends the TCP and UDP traffic of your computer through that IP.

How to use it in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Download the app

Download and install the free ONIE VPN app for your computer. Buy a Vietnam or US IP on the website; daily plans are available.

  2. 02

    Connect account

Press Connect account in the app, then approve the code on the Connect a device page of this site while signed in.

  3. 03

Turn on Full device, then pick an IP

Keep the Full device mode (the default), click a Vietnam or US IP to connect, then start your game. Windows asks for administrator permission (UAC) once to install its network service. Press Disconnect when you are done.

VPN for gaming on PC: Full device by platform

WindowsBetaFull device (beta, 1.0.3) sends the traffic of the whole computer, including game UDP, through the IP. It is still being tested on real Windows PCs. It asks for administrator permission (UAC) once. The build is not signed yet: if SmartScreen warns, press More info, then Run anyway.
LinuxAvailableFull device sends the traffic of the whole computer through the IP.
macOS (Apple silicon)BetaFull device is in beta; it asks for your password once to install its network helper. There is no Intel build yet.
Chrome, FirefoxBrowser onlyThe extensions route the browser only, so they do not work for installed games.
iPhone, AndroidNo ONIE appThere is no ONIE app for phones yet. You can scan a config QR code from the console with a third-party app such as Shadowrocket or v2rayNG.

Which games fit

The IP only changes where your connection reaches the internet from. It fits best with games that have servers or regions in Vietnam or the US:

Games and servers in the Vietnam region

Examples people often search for: the Vietnamese version of Arena of Valor (Liên Quân), Roblox VNG and other games run by Vietnamese publishers, when you are abroad.

US (NA) servers

Games with North American servers, when you want that region from Vietnam. Ping still includes the distance from Vietnam to the US.

Not a good fit

Games whose servers are in countries other than Vietnam and the US (we only have IPs in these two), games whose terms forbid VPNs, or cutting ping to a server near you.

Game names are only examples of what people search for. ONIE is not affiliated with any publisher, has not tested each game and does not promise that any game accepts the connection. Some games also check the account region, the app store or the phone number, not just the IP. Using a VPN may break the terms of some games and lead to an account suspension.

Ping and UDP, honestly

With an IP, the path is: your computer → the ONIE server where the IP lives → the game server. Your ping is the sum of both legs.

What ping depends on

Mostly on the distance from you to where the IP lives, plus the distance from there to the game server. A Vietnam server with a Vietnam IP keeps the second leg short.

Ping is higher when

You are far from where the IP lives, for example in Europe using a Vietnam IP: the ping always includes the distance to Vietnam. Detouring through an IP in another country to play on a server near you also adds ping.

No promise of lower ping

A VPN adds a leg, so it is usually not faster than the direct path, and ONIE does not promise lower ping. Try a daily plan before buying a longer one.

UDP and bandwidth

Full device carries UDP too, so the UDP traffic of the game and voice chat goes through the IP. Downloads and updates through the IP count toward the plan’s bandwidth, so download or update large games before you turn the VPN on.
